Untag Surabaya together with Paris Lodron Universitat Salzburg ceremonially signed the MoU and MoA cooperation documents, this activity was held at the 6th Floor Auditorium, R. Ing. Soekonjono Building. In his remarks, Prof. Josef Trappel as Head of Department of Communication Paris Lodron Universitat Salzburg said that the purpose of this collaboration was to exchange knowledge that could build each other to be even better. In addition, Josef explained his interest in Surabaya. He stated that Surabaya, like Salzburg, is the second largest city after its capital city. Surabaya is the second largest city after Jakarta and Salzburg is the second largest city after Vienna. Therefore, it would be interesting to sell cooperation in various fields seeing that Salzburg and Surabaya have similarities.

Not only the signing ceremony, Untag Surabaya and Paris Lodron Universitat Salzburg also held an International Joint Lecture with the theme "Digital Platform Power Play: Indonesia and Europe Perspective". This is one of the collaborations between the Communication Studies Program of Untag Surabaya and the Department of Communication of Paris Lodron Universitat Salzburg with three speakers including; Prof. Josef Trappel, Dr. Merry Fridha Tri Palup, M.Si as Lecturer of Communication Studies Untag Surabaya, and Dr. Hufron S.H., M.H. as Lecturer of Law Untag Surabaya.
